The top man of Pattaya Police apparently has an arrest warrant out for him after he neglected to turn up for a personal hearing for which he is the defendant.
Apichai Kroppetch, the head of the Pattaya Police force left Thailand on a trip, failing to return for the hearing. Mr. Kroppetch, instead sent a representative, who was informed that he could not act on the chief’s behalf.
As a result of this, a warrant for issued for his arrest.
It would appear that the chief has not been charged with any criminal activity as the case revolves around a private disagreement with Phairat Phaiphonrat, another top police officer, over data that was shared or spread over social media.
Chatchaphon Patanasiriporn, who was acting as Apichai Kroppetch’s delegate explained that the chief was abroad for a few days but would contact the court upon his return to clarify matters.
