Benyapa Supap, 35, visited the beauty salon on Friday in Phuket, Thailand, and paid 1,500 baht (£35) for ”super model” eyelashes.
Benyapa Supap, 35, paid 1,500 baht (£35) for ‘super model’ eyelashes and ended up losing all her lashes in the process, she claims
The owner of Hair Infinity allegedly used fast-acting super-strength Elephant brand super glue instead of cosmetic beauty products.
Within minutes of having the lashes stuck on, Benyapa’s eyes started to swell and then when she blinked the eyelids stuck together.
The mum-of-one complained to the beautician – who reduced the bill to 1,000 baht (£23) – but she was left in pain.
Benyapa walked out and pleaded for help from a second beauty salon which described the mess as the ”worst case of malpractice” they had ever seen.
Speaking today, Benyapa said she had even complained to the police over the incident.
She said: ”I have just moved to the area so I wasn’t sure of which places are good to use.
”At first time this salon said the cost was 1500 baht (£35) but after I was in pain, I said to them ‘I can’t close my eyes’ and they said to just pay 1,000 baht (£23).
”What they used on my eyes smelled the same as super glue and it was very fast drying.
”I was in in pain for three days after. My boyfriend went back to the shop the next day but they didn’t give our money back and they spoke not nice to my boyfriend.
”I went to the police but they said there’s nothing they can do about it. I just want them to be sorry but they’re not.”
Thankfully beautician Fara Foosaeng, 40, was on hand to save the day.
Fara filmed herself fixing the woman’s swollen eyelids by applying a glue softening solution and using a steel cuticle pusher to scrape away the glue.
Fixing the mess took an hour and Benyapa was left with bald eyelids and no eyelashes.
She paid 1,000 baht (£23) for her eyelashes to be repaired.
Fara said: ”I felt so sorry for Benyapa. It would have been very painful for her while it was being done.
”Removing the super glue was not easy. It was very strong. The glue had gone into her eyelid and eye socket which caused swelling and pain. It was very sore.
”The woman said that immediately after the eyelashes were stuck on she wanted the removed.
”Many people think they can do this job because they have watched a video on the internet or a friend has shown them how.
”You need to be an expert to do this work. So people who want eyelash extensions should only ever go to a trained beautician who can give reviews from past clients and show pictures of their work.”
Hair Infinity today declined to comment.
