Those who have spent a lot of time in the centre of Pattaya recently might have noticed the construction works taking place on Soi 13/3 and Soi 13/4 where workers have been busy laying new drainage pipes, well according to reports the work is now 20 percent complete.
Both roads have been closed for some time now with traffic diversions in place whilst contractors from the Monkolthep Ltd group have been busy on both Soi’s ripping up the roads to lay the new pipes.
Both Soi’s are home to bars, restaurants and various other entertainment venues where in more recent years several gay bars have also opened.
The project estimated to cost 8.2 million baht requires for 413 meters of drainage pipe to be buried in Soi 13/3 and 608 meters of pipe to go under Soi 13/4.
Providing the project is not delayed by rains it is scheduled to be complete by July 27 of this year.
Establishments on both streets are trying to remain open whilst the work is carried out with many welcoming the work to an extent stating that the streets were in a bad state of repair and were often prone to flooding when it rained.
