It’s been a busy few days for different agency’s working on Sukhumvit Road first there was the issue of a massive geyser spewing water across the road to sort out now workers have been called in to install new switches to prevent blackouts across the city.
Workers from the Provincial Electricity Authority installed the new switches and upgraded transformers on November 21.
Apparently the new switches will allow workers in the event of an emergency to shut down power to selective areas of the city in case urgent repairs are needed to be carried out.
The switches also act as “breakers” as the city is developing at a rapid rate and the strain that this is putting on the power grid can create widespread blackouts if the demand gets too high, the new switches are designed to prevent this.
So hopefully widespread power cuts will become a thing of the past, only time will tell though.
