The chief of the Energy Policy and Planning Office announced today (November 9) that 150 charging stations will be made available across the kingdom as part of a trial project to promote people using electric powered vehicles.
Thavarat Sutabutr, who made the announcement, said that the charging stations have the backing of the Electric Vehicle Association of Thailand.
On open invitation was made for businesses across Thailand to invest in the trial project and reportedly so far a total of 101 businessmen had applied to invest in the stations. He noted that his office will continue to review applications in December.
Government and state run agencies that will operate the charging stations will receive 100 percent funding for the cost of each station and private organisations will receive between 30-70 percent funding for the cost from the Energy Conservation Fund.
