In an effort to cut down recent waiting times for those arriving in the country officials have deployed roughly an extra 200 immigration officers to Don Mueang and Suvarnabhumi airports

The extra staff are being drafted in from offices all over the country in an effort to try and cope with the surge of arrivals after travellers were left waiting for over 4 hours at immigration checkpoints in Don Mueang over the last couple of days.

200 more immigration officials sent to Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang

The commander of the Second Division of the Immigration Bureau carried out an inspection of immigration officials at Don Mueang airport on Saturday night.

It was reported that he stressed to the personnel the importance of screening incoming travellers while doing so in a polite and timely fashion.
