A young female migrant factory worker has won first prize on the February 1 lottery draw here in Thailand having brought a ticket for just the third time since moving to work here in Thailand nine months ago.
Ms Thiri Shwe, 21, a factory worker in Hat Yai was escorted by colleges to the Hat Yai police station to officially record herself as being the rightful owner to the winning lottery ticket which number 026853 netting her a cool 6 million baht (£135,000.)
Speaking to reporters at the police station the young woman said once she receives the funds she will send all 6 million baht of the jackpot back to her family in Myanmar then return to live with them in her home town.
