According to reports a 55-year-old man was killed in central Sukhothai province last night after fighting with a 3-meter-long python that the man had allegedly kept in a jar for three days.
The deceased Sawan Tubklai, was said to have been killed after the python wrapped itself around his neck and suffocated him, according to Sawan’s 63-year-old sister who apparently witnessed the terrible incident, who tried to free her brother but was unable to.
Sawan’s sister screamed for help after not being able to free her brother but by the time family members arrived it was too late.
The deceased was found with bite marks to his arm and hand and rescue works noted that the snake had sustained several knife wounds during their battle.
Family members told reporters that Sawan had kept the python in a jar for three days, they did not know why. (It must have been a fair sized jar judging by the size of the snake.)
They are of the opinion that Sawan attempted to take the snake out of the jar when it attacked him.
Rescue workers with the help of locals placed the large python into a sack where it will now be checked over before being released back into the wild.
Let’s hope the snake doesn’t hold any grudges and attempt to choke anyone else out in the future.
