As of May 19th, AirAsia will double its daily flight schedule to Penang in Malaysia from Bangkok.
But the good news for those who like to travel is that the flights from Don Mueang are almost half the price of some competitors, with a one way ticket costing as little as 1700 baht.
Penang is a two part state, one being a popular island, where tourists visit and the other being on the mainland, featuring Malaysia’s version of Silicon Valley, which is the business orientated side of the state.
The state capital, George Town, which is located on the island, is popular with tourists. It is Malaysia’s second largest city with around 720,000 inhabitants. It has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2008.
So if you fancy an inexpensive holiday, Penang could be the place for you.
