Following an altercation which was recorded on CCTV then widely shared on social media which showed an angry Thai woman hurl hot soup at a food vendor, the soup slinger has since handed herself into the police.
The incident happened on November 4 where Narumon Wanalee, 22, angrily hurled the scolding hot nam ngiaw noodle soup at the vendor causing severe burns to her chest and neck which required hospital treatment. Narumon turned herself in at the Chang Phuek Police Station on November 10.
Following over 2 hours of questioning by officers the woman refused to speak to the media stating only that she was sorry for her actions and had accepted all the charges issued against her.
The victim of the attack is currently still recovering but hospital bills for treatment are currently at 14,000 baht and she has lost money due to not being able to work.
No charges have been pressed against Narumon by the victim who is looking to negotiate a settlement instead.
Narumon said she did not want to talk about the incident as negotiations with the victim are still ongoing.
