A sixty-four-year-old Australian man died following an attack by a swarm of bees in Phayao province in the north of Thailand.
Reports suggest the bees were irritated by locals, who had been cooking close to where the bees were nesting.
As the bees swarmed and villagers fled the scene, Peter William, an expat, could not keep up and sought refuge under a tree.
The bees however soon caught up with him, continually stinging him and as a result of his injuries, ceased breathing.
Medics did their best to revive Mr. William but he was pronounced dead upon arriving at the hospital.
