Authorities have back down over the introduction of new laws preventing people travelling in the back of pick-ups, less than 24 hours after the news broke it is claimed.

Everyone woke up this morning expecting to see pick-up trucks being stopped all over the country as the law was to be enforced. However, the reality is that the ruling has been suspended till after “Songkran”.

The law was actually introduced 28 years ago but until now, it has never been binding, and as many will be aware, the police have been known to use pick-ups to transport people to the local police stations.

The citizens of Thailand complained in their masses as the authorities quickly backed down, despite the law being brought in to save lives.

If you see anyone being stopped for travelling in the rear of a pick-up let us know.
