Having been delayed for over a year the Thai Airways Airbus A350 made its first flight touching down in Melbourne yesterday morning.
The new aircraft will replace the Boeing 777-200 on the daily route from Bangkok to Melbourne which will increase the total number of seats available each week by 224.
The announcement was originally made back in September of last year that the new craft would be used but a series of setbacks meant that the craft was delayed use until yesterday.
Issues included the approval for the crafts use by Australia’s Civil Aviation Safety Authority.
The new A350 has 289 economy seats set out 3 by 3 by 3 with 32 business class seats.
