A Pub inside a Bangkok hotel was raided by police in the early hours of Wednesday morning for staying open after closing time, even after an earlier order to suspend business.
Eight officers from the Crime Suppression Division stormed in and found roughly 250 foreign nationals and Thais still partying inside the venue at 5:40 despite the pubs 2 a.m. closing time.
The pub has no sign outside it but is situated inside the Thongpoon Hotel on Rama VI road.
Officers had been staking out the venue after learning that the venue was staying open past its 2 a.m. curfew.
The venue is referred to by patrons only as “Swing” was still admitting customers at 4 a.m.
The manager of the pub Panupong Tanongkaew was arrested and it was reported that 28 customers had tested positive for drug use.
The venue was ordered to suspend business until further notice on January 4 according to an official from the Pathumwan distric office.
