It has a smooth eight speed automatic gearbox. The car handles well, even in wet conditions, assisted by four wheel drive.

The driver is very much in control of how the can derives its power. For instance in Max e_Drive, the vehicle uses electricity as much as possible and can reach speeds of up to 87 mph.

Auto Mode, leaves the decision making to the car. It will use electricity or petrol whenever it deems fit. Both the Auto and Max e_Drive will deplete the battery over the period of your journey, resulting in a charge being required.

You can however, choose what percentage (up to 100%) for the car to keep in reserve. The car will recharge its batteries from its own sources as you move along and you have the advantage of silence in traffic as it uses its electric motor for pulling away at the lights etc.

This mode is ideal if you are unsure when or where your next charge will come from.
