A British holiday maker has been left with multiple injuries after falling down a waterfall in Thailand.
Luke Scott, 20, from Wigton was visiting the famous Na Muang waterfall with five friends when he slipped and fell head first down an 80 meter stretch of waterfall.
He was flown to a Bangkok hospital where the extent of his injuries became apparent.
Luke suffered a fractured skull, broken ankle, jaw, eye socket, cheekbone as well as several broken ribs.
Doctors still have him under observation while his family wait anxiously for doctors to giveauthorisation for him to be flown home to England.
The first his parents knew of the accident was when their daughter rang to ask where she could find his travel insurance.
Luke has been in contact with his parents and is being supported in hospital by a close friend who hopes to travel home with him once it has been given the ok by doctors.
Despite his injuries he is lucky not to have lost his life after falling such a distance, two years ago a 24-year-old from Newcastle was not so lucky and sadly died after falling at the same waterfalls.
