After ten year relationship a British man Mr Christopher Johnbrid felt confident he could trust his ex Thai wife Mrs Prapai Kongsuwan age 39 to open The Love Bar next to the beach in Lamai Koh Samui, it appears he was wrong.
Mr Johnbrid claims he gave his ex wife 1,500,000 Baht to open the bar, however instead of honouring the agreement she never opened the bar, instead Mrs Prapai in fact ran off with the money. Consequently he then felt he had no other option left, so he decided to launch a criminal case against the woman.
Mrs Prapai tells a different story however, according to her she never stole the money at all, she said the bar in fact was opened and went bankrupt, then she was forced to move to Pattaya and start work as a maid.
Police Capt Withoon Luengamornsak told reporters he & his officers were responding to a warrant which had been issued by the court in Koh Samui. The officers had discovered Mrs Prapai hiding in a condo in South Pattaya. Apparently she told the officers that yes, she and Mr Johbrid had been in a long term relationship over a period of ten years, however she would never try to trick him or steal his money.
There are many cases like this where there are conflicting stories, in the end it will be left up to the court to decide who is right and who is wrong.
