A 60 year old Briton, DavidJohn Sewell got severely injured after crash while speeding away from cops avoiding interactions. He was taken to Udan Thani provincial hospital where he breathed his last.
Lt Col Pattanawong Chanpol, deputy chief of the Muang Udon Thani spotted Sewell’s car parked in Ban Nong Sai village. The car was parked with the driver’s door open. When the police car approached, Sewell suddenly drove off. The cops trailed. Sewell crashed into the rear of truck on Udon Thani-Sakon Nakhon road in Ban Nong Kae village in Tambon Nongkham in Muang district.
Initially, one bag of marijuana was found from his car’s dash board. Later four more bags of marijuana, 80 methamphetamine pills, five bags of crystal meth and seven bags of cocaine were searched out of his car.
It is being assumed that Sewell must have panicked with the police approaching since he had banned substances in possession. Police discovered later on that Sewell have been living in Ton Tal Resort in Ban Nong Bu village in Tambon Samprao.
His wife, a Thai lady was informed about the incident. She expressed that she has been totaaly unaware of the drug part. She thought Sewell used to visit his friends and drink with them.
Police have got more marijuana from Sewell’s residence. His wife has been detained by the police for further enquiries.
