A seventy million baht project to develop a new cycling and running track at Huai Jorakhemak Reservoir in Mueang district is under way.
Authorities in Buriram hope that the new venture will attract fitness enthusiasts from around the country.
The Irrigation Project Director Kitikul Sepasiraporn, announced that the wetland area was to be turned into a recreational area, where people to can also enjoy nature.
There are over 100 various bird species to be seen, including the ultra rare eastern sarus crane. In Thailand, the species became extinct in the wild back in the 1980s but over the years, the Zoological Park Organization have reintroduced 60 of the large birds back into the wild in Buriram.
The project will take around two years to complete but once finished, the people of Thailand will have something to enjoy, either from a fitness perspective or from that of those who enjoy nature.
