Yet another bus crash has claimed the lives of three passengers and left twenty others injured.
The bus, which was travelling from Bangkok to Trat, hit a pole in Sukhumvit Road in Khao Saming district on Saturday morning.
Leaving Ekamai in Bangkok at 22:15 for Trat, the bus initially had fifty-five passengers on board but thirty disembarked in Chanthaburi.
The driver appears to have lost control of the vehicle, hitting a street light before overturning and finishing up in a ditch. As a result, two men and one woman were killed. It is believed that ten passengers are in a serious condition.
Police think the driver may have fallen asleep or was nodding off when the accident occurred. Passenger statements suggest the bus was swaying across the road before hitting the pole.
Khampee Manee-orn, who was driving, was booked for reckless driving causing death to others.
