Charred Remains Found After Bangkok Fire

An elderly woman has died as a result of a fire in Bangkok.

The sixty-five-year-old was killed when a fire that destroyed twenty houses near a railway line in the Thonburi district on Monday morning.

The inferno raged from 03:00, causing devastation of the wooden houses. Firefighters took 90 minutes to extinguish the blaze, whereupon they discovered the charred remains of the woman.

Firefighter Supoj Chomsinsup, 31, was injured as he attended the blaze, suffering burns to his ankle.

The fire is believed to have started in a nearby food shop.
