A restaurant owner in Chiang Mai received a nasty shock when she opened her latest electricity bill which she has since gone to the media over as she believes it to be completely wrong.

Suda, 45, received the bill totalling a whopping 338,000 baht for historical charges dating back over a four year period for a property that she no longer uses as a restaurant, having relocated to another area.

She claims that the electricity bills were usually around 2,000 baht per month and during hot season raised to as much as 7,000 baht per month.

Since moving to new premises in August she received the bill which stated that her meter had been incorrectly read and that she now owed the backdated charges.

It was reported by Sanook that there appears to be other irregularities with her bill.
