The Ministry of Tourism and Sport said that they are expecting an inflated amount of Chinese tourists to flock to Thailand during an eight-day period from October 1 to October 8.
That is a national holiday in China according to Ministry Secretary Pongpanu Svetarundra.
He said that they are expecting roughly 260,000 Chinese tourists to arrive during this period which is a 35 percent increase over the same period last year.
The Minister said that China’s number one travel website revealed that Thailand is the top destination for Chinese tourists during the so called “golden week.”
The Chinese tourists are expected to travel to Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket and Chiang Mai during the golden week where the MOTS expects that during China’s national holiday they will generate 11 billion baht in revenue for the kingdom.
