The deputy prime minister has urged all citizens to observe Thai National Flag Day which will be held on September 28 asking all citizens to learn about the significance of the national flag.
This year will mark the 100th anniversary of the Thai national flag having been presented to the Thai people 100 years ago by King Rama VI.
Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam said that the flag should be used for three things, decorating premises, accompanying honorary ceremonies and preceding public announcements.
He said that it is important for all Thai citizens to possess knowledge of how the flag should be correctly used in different situations.
This year national flag day will see the entire nation take part in the celebrations with flags being flown all over the country in honour of both King Vajiravudh and King Rama VI.
