Deputy PM denies Amnesty International’s claims of secret CIA prison in Thailand

Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwon has spoken out about recent claims made by Amnesty International that the CIA has a secret detention center here in the kingdom to categorically deny the claim as being false.

Amnesty International released a statement saying that US President Donald Trump’s new CIA director Gina Haspel used to run the CIA’s secret prison located in Thailand.

The Deputy PM said today “there is no secret prison” with so many different government agencies he said “how could a secret prison be set up or operate here in Thailand.”

Amnesty International have said they suspect Haspal of ordering the destruction of evidence and ordering victims tortured which could be described as crimes against humanity.

They have petitioned the US Senate to closely vet her qualifications before approving her new appointment.
