A doctor accused of fondling the breasts of multiple women during an annual check-up of factory workers has voluntarily surrendered himself to police yesterday to protest his innocence.
Speaking on behalf of the doctor his lawyer, Thanadej Srilamun said that his client is willing to negotiate with those that filed complaints to come to a settlement.
Thanadej accompanied his client to the Sung Noen Police Station yesterday to formally acknowledge the charge of sexual abuse.
A total of 11 complaints were made by different women following their check-ups on November 17.
The doctor accused refused to speak to any media representatives but Pol Lt Colonel Trakarn Saksrikrom the lead officer investigating the case said “there’s grounds to believe he committed the violation.”
Thanadej stated that the doctor is under the impression that the complaints might be a misunderstanding as check-up generally require for a doctor to physically touch a patient.
According to his lawyer he is willing to negotiate with the women who feel they have been wronged.
Thanadej alleged that the women who filed complaints had earlier requested 50,000 baht each as compensation, however the doctor involved said that the figure was too much.
