Doctors And Nurses Demand Ample Rest And Shorter Working Weeks

Doctors and nurses have made known their grievances to employers and authorities at a press conference.

Claims of being overworked, have lead those in the profession to take action amidst reports of doctors dying from infections picked up in hospitals, possibly through exhaustion.

Doctors have died in road accidents after completing long shifts then attempting to drive home but falling asleep a the wheel.

It is reported that many doctors and nurses are working in the region of 80 hours per week, which could result in mistakes being made when treating or diagnosing patients. The long hours is also having an effect on the medics own health.

Those who work in the profession want regulations agreed that meet international standards for permissible hours of work.

Two doctors died in the last month of respiratory infections, believed to be brought on by extreme tiredness.
