The effects of Typhoon Doksuri which was downgraded to a tropical depression as it hit Thailand are being felt across the nation with eight northern provinces hit with severe flooding
And reports of flash flooding in southern provinces as well.
The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation is still calculating the cost of the damage the latest flooding has caused.
The storm also hit southern provinces causing at least 28 reported instances of flash flooding in Phuket alone over the weekend.
In the north over 215 villages were affected by flooding many of the residence were taken by surprise or unprepared for the flooding.
Government personnel have been dispatched to assist with evacuating members of the public from flooded areas and repair works began on roads and bridges damaged by the floodwaters today.
It has been reported that since Friday at least two people have lost their lives as a result of the tropical storm.
Waters have begun to subside but continuing rain is hindering relief and clean-up efforts.
