Electric buses will soon be seen on the streets of Thailand following the announcement that Thai-owned Kwaithong Motor Company is keen to enter the electric vehicle market.
A prototype was put on display yesterday by the company, which was imported from China.
The EV utilises both American and Chinese technology and can boast an amazing fifteen minute charge time, which affords the bus fifty kilometres of travelling distance. Battery life is said to be twelve years.
The company plan to assemble their new buses in Thailand, which is great news for the economy, with vehicles being produced in Ayutthaya.
This is a considerable investment by the bus company, who obviously have serious ambitions with regards to electric vehicles.
Two hundred buses are planned for production so far.
Greener transport for Thailand. Great news indeed.
