A top high-street research company is predicting big things for three industries once the government passes their new Eastern Economic Corridor bill.
The prediction made by Siam Commercial Bank’s Intelligence Centre (EIC) is based on the EEC project directly attracting increased foreign investment.
The comments were made after a recent National Legislative Assembly endorsing the EEC.
The EIC is predicting that aviation and logistics industries, digital industry and robotics industry will play a vital role in the development of the EEC and Thailand as a whole once the government enacts the new EEC bill and those industry’s will support the growth of additional sectors.
Elaborating further they said plans to further develop U-Tapao Airport to accommodate as many as 60 million passengers over the next 14 years will also play a big part in their plans for the EEC.
This in turn will lead to increasing infrastructure development in neighbouring towns and cities.
They also expect all digitally-related businesses to grow substantially after spending on digital technology is projected to increase to 135 billion baht by the year 2020 where previous figures showed spending was at 73 billion baht in 2015.
