Flash flooding resulted in landslides that damaged twenty houses in Chiang Mai Chaiya Prakan district early this morning (September 26.)
There has been no report of any injuries but nearly all of the village of Ban Tham Ngob has been inundated with mud and fallen trees are now blocking several roads.
Officials said they will now keep a close eye on the hillsides in the area until the end of the rainy season.
The head of the provinces disaster prevention mitigation office attributed the damage on heavy rainfall that started at 2am where the effects were felt by the village at around 8am.
It is estimated that sum 70 residence have been affected by the flash flooding where 20 houses were badly damaged, officials are now distributing flood-relief kits.
