The public living downstream of the Amnart Charoen reservoir are being warned there could be a possibility of flash flooding after officials are forced to release waters
After fears that the reservoir might overflow if subjected to more heavy rains.
The director of the Amnart Charoen irrigation office said that days of heavy rainfall has resulted in large volumes of water flowing into the reservoir which is already at full capacity.
He said more rains are forecast so officials have to hurry to release more water to free up capacity for the expected rains.
Due to the water being released there is a possibility of flash flooding further downstream he warned.
Officials have surveyed flood damage across seven other districts where they found 16,665 families and 68,200 rai of farmland had been affected by floodwaters.
