Former Miss Teen Thailand and actress Amelia Jacobs apparently appeared tense yesterday morning having spent her first night in the Min Buri Remand Prison according to the prison chief Sompop Sangkotkaew.
He said Amelia appeared to be under stress but was able to eat her first meal at the prison which was a bowl of boiled rice.
Amelia is currently being held at the remand prison after a raid of her and her boyfriend’s house uncovered 70 grams of methamphetamine and 16 ecstasy tablets.
On Thursday the court granted a police requests to hold Amelia and her boyfriend Poonyawat Hirantecha for a further 12 days while they continue further investigations before appearing in court.
Both were sent to remand prison by the court.
Sompop said prison staff interviewed both Amelia and Poonyawat to determine if either had any medical needs, he said neither did.
Concerns had been raise that Poonyawat might not be safe in prison because of rivals but the prison chief insisted he was perfectly safe stating that remand prisoners are kept separate from convicted inmates.
The prison chief also said that Poonyawat has served time in jail before for drugs offenses.
