For the second time this week, Thai people have been encouraged to wear traditional costumes.
The first request from the Ministry of Tourism and Sport wants to see local people dress in retro clothing for Songkran, to beautify the celebrations.
Now the Ministry of Culture has asked that Thais wear the fancy clothing for the Heritage Preservation Week in order to gain free entry to events.
The event runs from the 2nd of April till Sunday in honour of Princess Maha Chakri Srindhorn.
The Ministry has also arranged a free event at the Bangkok National Museum, with traditional cultural performances being held daily. You can observe the performances from 17:30 till 20:00.
So if you wish to gain free entrance and save yourself a few baht, make sure to look out the Thai costumes and help promote nationalism. It is also aimed at generating a love of historic Thailand too.
