Drunk driving in Thailand is a major concern for road users. The Kingdom’s roads are a death trap at the best of times but add into the mix drunk drivers, and you have a deadly combination, that will often lead to blood being spilled on the streets.
But an amended law, recently approved by the cabinet could be a step in the right direction in reducing drunk driving – at least with the youngsters anyway.
Now drivers under the age of 20, found to have over 20 milligram percent alcohol in their blood, will face charges of drunk driving.
It is indeed a step in the right direction but is it enough?
Many want to see stiffer penalties for those caught drunk behind the wheel or in charge of a motorbike.
Tell us what you think. What should the penalty be for anyone caught over the limit?
