The Thai government is encouraging married couples all across the kingdom to get down to business and start having more children.
The instruction to get Jiggy in the bedroom came after members at a high level ministerial meeting were informed that by the year 2036 roughly 30 percent of the Thai population will be at pension age.
Ministers concluded that the country as a whole needs to start having more children now so that in 18 years-time there are sufficient adults in the workplace.
Concerns had been raised over the last couple of years about the kingdoms falling birth-rate.
In an effort to start encouraging families to have more children the government is about to introduce a wide range of new tax incentives for working families including a 30,000 baht tax deduction for a family’s first child and a 60,000 baht tax deduction for their second.
Financial aid will also be provided to help with the cost of delivery bills at hospitals and maternity pay.
The government is also looking to open more day care centres to help with childcare for working parents.
The day care centres that will be government opened and run will be subsidised.
