Moves are afoot to increase the governments ability to monitor people’s online activity.
New software will be introduced that will permit them the ability to track your internet movements in what could be described as delving into your private and personal communications.
The reasons given are based on tracking those who insult the royal family but it goes much deeper than that, for anyone who slanders or threatens the royals, would be reported by netizens anyway.
So what are they actually looking for?
It is claimed the Digital Economy Minister plans to spend 129 million baht ($3.8 million) on a variety of software packages that include data analysis, that can monitor individuals. It will allegedly be able to track and record data for over one million online users.
What are your thoughts on this?
Would the money be better spent on road improvements, housing, jobs or reducing poverty throughout the Kingdom?
Should we all relocate to North Korea?
