A Thanachart Bank branch on Rama III in Bangkok was the victim of armed robbery on Wednesday morning after a lone gunman was able to escape with 200,000 baht in cash.
Wat Phrayakrai police were called to the bank at 9.17am yesterday morning.
Bank staff told officers that the robber had entered the bank wearing a black T-shirt and black trousers carrying a bag and they estimated he was about 30-years-old.
He approached the counter and pulled out a gun pointing it at the cashier and demanded money, after handing over the cash he fled in the direction of the Rama IX Bridge, staff said the whole ordeal only took about a minute to happen.
Five employees and a member of cleaning staff were in the bank at the time of the incident as police continue their investigation.
