Freak storms brought havoc to the north east of Thailand during the afternoon of Thursday 16th of March 2017.

Reports claim that hailstones the size of golf balls pummelled Loei Province and surrounding areas.

Staff at Erawan District Hospital took photos of the large icy spheres that fell. Images show the surrounding area of the hospital covered in hailstones, which damaged at least one windscreen of a parked car.

Many home owners have reported damage to properties, especially roofs.
