Two honest dustmen returned a sizeable amount of cash they found while collecting rubbish in Bang Krang.
Yingyot Srikaet, 41, and his college Phairot Yaemkleep, 40, were sorting through the rubbish after a collection when they happened across an envelope with two stacks of 100,000 baht.
Initially the two men thought the notes were counterfeit but upon closer inspection realised they were genuine and handed them to their supervisor who managed to track down the owner.
The owner of the money was in disbelief, they said the money belonged to their late brother who’s house they had just cleared out saying he must have hidden the money.
Police are now in possession of the money until the owner can come and claim it as they are currently travelling.
Yingyot said he once found a phone that he managed to return to its rightful owner by post saying he had no need to keep other peoples belongings.
He also gave some advice to the general public saying that people should always make sure they know what they throw away, you might not be as lucky as the owner of this money.
