Two men who stabbed a university student, killing him in the process, so they could steal his mobile phone have been sentence today and will face the death penalty.
The pair, Kittikorn Vikaha, 26, and Supatchai Chansri, 25, admitted their guilt, which saw Wasin Luengchaem, a graduate of Srinakharinwirot University being killed over an iPhone.
The incident occurred outside a 7-Eleven store on January 4th this year in Ladprao area of Bangkok.
A video showed Kittikorn trying to snatch the phone but the victim resisted, which resulted in the stabbing.
Despite entering guilty pleas, the court decided they would face the death penalty due to their previous criminal records. In fact on the night of the murder, the pair had already committed two other robberies.
They were well known to the police and had been in prison previously.
