67 year old local fisherman, Mardya Tamsuan found a marbled whipray while fishing early in the morning, weighing 70kilograms, 2 metres from head to tail and 1.5 metres diameter.
The marbled whipray surprised the Officer from Klongtom Fishering Office Samnieang
Srirakaew, who stated that this whipray is usually found near the mouth of a river and not in an open sea.
Such an enormous fish was never before seen by Mr Mardya and his fellow fishermen’s, said Mr Mardya.
For further investigation, the whipray will now be sent to an expert.
