A major tourist attraction is to be closed to visitors to protect the coral.
Ao Maya, which is part of the Phi Phi Islands that, rest off the western coast of Thailand close to Phuket. It is popular with scuba divers due to its beauty on the seabed.
The resort will be closed to all outsiders for four months commencing in June and will not reopen to the public until October.
A spokesman said the corals require time to recover and grow. Human disturbance prevents this happening, which is why we have taken the decision to close the bay.
