Nakhon Si Thammarat police seized 200 million baht worth of drugs on Thursday, resulting in the arrests of two Malaysians and one Thai national.
Officials say their haul included over 50 kilos of heroin and 300,000 methamphetamine tablets.
Manote Bainawee of Satun province along with Malaysian’s Jeffrey bin Embai and Chun Kib-lee bin Ismael, were taken into custody.
Pol Lt-Gen Thesa Sirivatho, commissioner of 8th Region Provincial Police Bureau, explained that a black Toyota Altis was stopped by Tham Panrao district police on Highway 41, as officers became suspicious.
Manote Bainawee and Jeffrey bin Embai were in the car at the time.
Officers carried out a search of the vehicle, discovering the illicit stash in a secret compartment.
Chun Kib-lee bin Ismael was arrested later in Nakhon Si Thammarat, where they found more drugs and a substantial amount of money.
The drugs were apparently bound for Penang in Malaysia.
