A man, who was being held in connection with the death of an eleven-year-old school girl, has allegedly confessed to murdering her.
Wichai Chotisena, 58, a friend of the victim’s father, picked the girl up from school, claiming he would take her home. However the child never arrived home.
CCTV footage showed the girl getting on a motorbike belonging to Chotisena, who is employed as a construction worker.
Police took the accused to three locations, where he re-enacted the crime. This included the pick up at her school, the secluded area where he is accused of sexually assaulting and murdering her and to the place he disposed of the body.
He was protected by 100 police officers as he explained the scenario to investigators.
The medical officer said the youngster drowned but could not confirm if she was thrown into the water or had her head held beneath the surface.
The accused said he killed her when she began to scream and tried to escape as he assaulted her.
He said he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the murder and apologised to her parents.
