A man from Nakhon Ratchasima who allegedly robbed a 7-Eleven convenience store at gunpoint earlier this week in Bangkok’s Lak Si district getting away with 1,000 baht in cash was found to have committed suicide by hanging himself when officers tracked him to a garage in Vibhavadi-Rangsit this morning.
The deceased was named as Natthapong Sosut, 29, officers discovered his body at 8am along with a four page long suicide note addressed to both his family and the police.
The note reportedly stated Natthapong regretted his crime and took his own life as he didn’t want to go to prison, armed robbery in Thailand carries a maximum sentence of 15 years.
The note also stated that he was the owner of the weapon and ammunition used to commit the robbery so police did not need to investigate any further.
Officers have sent Natthapong’s body for an autopsy to determine the cause of death while forensic teams are inspecting the area where his body was discovered.
