A man who refused to move his car out of the way of an ambulance has apologised for to the people of Thailand.
He also said sorry from the bottom of his heart to the family of the man who died as the emergency vehicle, sirens blaring, failed to get beyond his red Suzuki Swift.
And to add insult to injury, Panuwat Sricharoen, works for the National Institute of Emergency Medicine and would have been aware that he should have moved aside to let the ambulance through.

However, he has pleaded for people to cease abusing his wife and family, adding that it was his responsibility alone and that his family have nothing to do with his actions. Amazingly, his wife is also employed at a Bangkok hospital.
The news broke when one of the ambulance crew posted a video of the red car, blocking the emergency vehicle’s path, which did not amuse many people. But imagine the shock when it was discovered that the perpetrator was a hospital worker and should have known better.
Panuwat claims he will accept whatever punishment is coming to him.
In another twist, the ambulance worker who posted the video is also in trouble with the authorities, for posting the footage online.
This is not an isolated incident by any means. Possibly posting footage online is the only way people will be educated of the dangers and consequences of their actions.
Our thoughts are with the deceased’s family.
