Over 120,000 people have signed a petition to have “My Mate Nate” arrested
Nate Bartling, a YouTube prankster, was filmed as he put his pet cat up against a scorpion. Thousands of people watched the video, which shows the scorpion hanging on to the poor cats lip as the animal tries frantically to escape the sharp pain of the scorpions claws.
Now police have received complaints suggesting the prankster should be charged with animal cruelty.
In a previous video, Bartling tied “helium balloons” to his pet cat.
Police are also investigating his work status, whether he has a permit or visa and if he is paying taxes in the Kingdom.
The cruel video has been viewed by three million people, many of them youngsters, leaving some to believe that kids will copy the antics of Bartling, leading to more animals suffering.
Thailand has incredible strict animal cruelty laws, meaning he could be jailed or face a severe fine.
The American posted a video yesterday to try to explain his latest foolery but there is little you can say in his defence.
An online lawyer suggested he should get his bail money ready.
The former Mormon missionary who speaks fluent Thai, is thought to have made over 30,000 from the three million clicks on his video.
