One of Bangkok’s largest and best known entertainment areas, Royal City Avenue, played host to Metropolitan police chief Sanit Mahathavorn, as the Songkran celebrations got into full swing.
The chief arrived with an entourage of people, consisting of medics, officers and the odd sniffer dog.
The safety of the public was to the forefront of his thoughts as he toured the area.
He spoke about how people should behave during Songkran stating that there should be no powder, no high powered water guns and how people should refrain from lewd behaviour and drinking alcohol. He suggested that people should do their best to conserve water during the celebrations too.
Demonstrations were provided on how people should wear their waterproof pouches that contained cash or phones to make it difficult for thieves to steal them.
