An announcement was made this morning by the Meteorological Department warning residents in multiple central, eastern and southern provinces to prepare for heavy rains as a result of tropical storm Kirogi.

The warning was made at 5am regarding the low-pressure cell which was currently covering the upper Gulf of Thailand.

Provinces expected to be effected by Kirogi include Ratchaburi, Samut Songkhram, Bangkok and nearby areas, Chonburi, Rayong, Petchaburi, Khiri Khan, Prachuap, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Ranong, Phangnga and Phuket.

Smaller sea crafts are also being advised to stay ashore as a result of turbulent seas caused by the tropical storm.
